A moment of discussion dedicated to the cultural value and future prospects of Florentine goldsmithing was held on 24 March in Florence, bringing together institutions, operators and industry representatives around the themes of protection, training and development.
The Florentine Goldsmithing Regulations are the official text that defines the historical origins, techniques, and materials of the Florentine Goldsmithing Style. A piece of jewellery can only be called such if it conforms to the established criteria, protecting an artisanal identity rooted in the Renaissance tradition.
On 1 October 2024, the Florence Goldsmithing Style Consortium will be born: for the first time in over a century, workshops and jewellers from the Metropolitan City of Florence are coming together in a common project to protect and enhance the Florentine Goldsmithing Style.
